An article written by a JESC Advocacy team member has been featured in the Weekly Update e-newsletter produced by the international NGO, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre.

The article picked up by the Resource Centre is entitled “A choking beast of prey – Mega Mines in Zambia” and forms part of a series of reports on the JESC Africa Social Centres Blog produced by Henry Longbottom SJ. The reports record Henry’s visits to a number of Jesuit projects in Africa during March 2017.  The purpose of the Africa visits was to explore opportunities for partnerships between African social centres and Jesuits together with their partners involved in social justice issues here in Europe.  With a special focus on natural resources and mining, the hope is to spotlight work being done by our African colleagues, allowing it to inform our advocacy in the European context.

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is arguably the world’s leading information hub on business & human rights.  An international non-profit organisation with staff based in Hong Kong, India, Senegal, South Africa, UK, Ukraine, and the US.  Its website is updated hourly with reports from around the world, and can be used to:
