OUR MISSION

Our mission is to reflect on and contribute to the life, policies and practices of Europe in general and the EU in particular. JESC seeks an engagement which authentically expresses Christian faith, analyses social reality with competence, and advocates for social and environmental justice in the European political structures and action, while remaining close to the poor and marginalised. In a context in which the EU is undergoing profound challenges, questioning and crisis, JESC aims to be a critical but constructive actor of the “European common good”, in collaboration with a broad range of partners.
With its direct connection to the Jesuit Conference of European Provincials, JESC expresses the commitment of the Society of Jesus to a Europe where human rights, freedom and solidarity are the foundation of integration. JESC assumes also the coordination role of the different social and environmental Jesuit networks in Europe.
