Alba Requejo is the new Secretary-General of Stand Up for Europe. Alba has previously worked at JESC as Content and Social Media Assistant being also responsible for the Social Media Coordination at The European Leadership Programme (ELP). JESC congratulates Alba Requejo on her new role as Secretary-General and we wish her all the best in her new professional endeavour.

Alba shared with JESC  a few words about her appointment:

“I see the EU as the result of multiple efforts and innovative minds put together to cooperate and improve our social conditions and living standards. In this endeavour, I believe communication and dialogue enables a fertile base for synergies to emerge and take action.

I started by communicating for the Jesuit European Social Centre with a team of international and inspiring colleagues. I got to learn more about my vocation and myself. One of life’s windows opened, and it came with the opportunity to become Stand Up for Europe’s Secretary-General. I envisioned it as both a thrilling and challenging position, which I am happy to have accepted.

I am currently informing about the EU and European affairs, coordinating a group of passionate external contributors and looking forward to the Erasmus interns that will soon join us. We are jointly working together for a stronger Europe. Each new experience brings new challenges and new people, people from whom we can learn something each day. All it takes to work for a social Europe is: a strong belief in progress, self-courage and a humanitarian approach to remember the whole picture.”
