Passion for Europe Workshop 2024 – European Democracy in the light of the War in Ukraine: something worth fighting for?

1107

In the face of war at its borders, economic challenges, and rising nationalism, Europe is at a crossroads. Can it remain a beacon of democracy and prosperity, rooted in the vision of its founding fathers and champions like Jacques Delors? How do we safeguard the European common good, ensuring peace, sustainability, and freedom for all communities?

The “Passion for Europe Workshop 2024” invites politicians, academics, and citizens to engage in a critical dialogue on the future of European democracy. Through keynote speeches, panels, and multicultural discussions, participants will explore the threats posed by growing individualism and the role of cross-border collaboration in preserving Europe’s core values. Special focus will be given to the role of churches and other institutions in defending democracy.

This event also offers opportunities for social networking, cultural experiences, and moments of reflection, including a piano concert and reflection times in a serene garden setting.

Confirmed speakers include Antoine Arjakovsky, Daniel Calleja, Karl-Heinz Lambertz, Sebastien Maillard, Andreas Faludi, Josianne Gauthier, and more. Join us in this vital conversation about Europe’s future.
